Equity & Inclusion

Purpose: track how fairly the education system serves all children — girls and boys, learners with disabilities, and displaced, rural and marginalised groups. This page brings together gender parity, disability inclusion and access gaps so equity is monitored, not assumed.

Equity priorities

  • Close the remaining gender gap — parity has risen to 0.93 but girls remain under-represented in several states and at secondary level.
  • Strengthen disability inclusion — identification, accessible facilities and trained teachers for learners with hearing, visual, physical and intellectual disabilities.
  • Reach rural, nomadic and displaced children through ABE, mobile and community schooling.
  • Disaggregate all monitoring by sex, disability and location so gaps are visible and acted on.
